1940'S ZENITH Wave Magnet Portable Suitcase Radio, Model 6G601M, WORKS

Zenith "WaveMagnet Long-Distance" Radio manufactured in the early 1940's. The radio is in pretty good condition for its age. The cloth sailboat scene is still intact and without holes, tears or any worn spots. The case and hinges are in good condition but the case does have some signs of wear and some marks. The leather handle is secure and completely intact.

The back electrical compartment (it has a hinged door in back, front is missing) is fairly clean and all the tubes are in place. I powered it up and was able to get 2 stations.

The stations were weak and with some static (I didn't have the WaveMagnet fully deployed, either). The flat WaveMagnet tether/cord is intact as well. The ac cord has been replaced with a modern one. The serial number is 1819378.

I don't know what the production run on this model was. Dimensions are 14-7/8" wide x 9-5/8" high (add about 2" more for the handle) and 6-3/4" deep.
