In Zenith Advertising, this radio design could have come right off the set of AMCs Mad Men. Note: as an added bonus I'll include a copy of a Zenith ad featuring this model which was used by salesmen from Zenith to market to dealers! It is a great companion piece for such a cool radio.

For those unfamiliar with Zeniths C845 radio it is legendary with Zenith collectors - the sound is truly amazing you have to hear it to believe it. With two loud speakers (an 8 Woofer and 3.5 electrostatic Tweeter), this radio represented the pinnacle of achievement of Zeniths High Fidelity sound efforts.

The C845 was the first in a series of almost identical models thatned from 1959 through 1967, before Zenith finally went to Solid State printed circuit radio technology. The C845 was followed in 1963 and 64 by the H845 and X338, then finally the model X337 in 1967. The 845 models are much more common. Many collectors of these radios usually have more than one in their stable due to their quality construction, hand wiring, and superb performance.

This radio was electronically serviced. Tubes tested and any weak ones replaced, the FM was repaired and works great now, the chassis was lightly cleaned, the controls were cleaned and lubricated!

The knobs are original but the coating is always faded on these models so they were restored and painted a metallic chrome 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of chrome paint, and 2 coats of clear coat gloss they look pretty darn good. This model is considered the "Royalty of Radio". Every Zenith enthusiast should own at least one in their collection of high-performance tube radios! There are 2 knobs on the right, the left is for on/off/volume the right is for bass & treble control. There is a knob and selector on the left side of the radio as well which controls band selection and tuning.

Whenever you turn the dial you get a station! Using just the single wire connection that uses the power cord as an antenna. The exterior has been polished gently with a natural wood polish and maintains an.

The plastic grille has been thoroughly cleaned, and looks almost like new. The cabinet is in great shape, no nicks, no cracks, solid and structurally sound. The knobs were refinished in a chrome paint to be somewhat consistent with the other Chrome bezels. There are a few imperfections and you may find a blemish here or there but I have not noticed anything significant - this radios exterior is in great shape. The Power cord and plug are also original and in good pliable condition. The original back is sturdy and in good condition with all of its original screws in place. All four feet are original and functional.
