Offered today is a beautiful 1936 Zenith 7S53. This is a rarely seen console, and a very pretty one at that. The radio has been fully restored and plays well. Here's a bit more info. The chassis has been thoroughly gone over. All paper/wax capacitors and electrolytics, as well as a few micas, have been replaced with correct values. All resistors more than 10 percent off spec have also been replaced with same or higher wattage replacements. The candohm had an open section; rather than jump it all sections have been replaced. The radio has been aligned, cleaned, and a new dial belt from Adams Radio has been installed. It plays well, as it should. The speaker is in excellent condition. This is a really pretty cabinet, at 40" by 22" by 13 a bit smaller than many Zenith consoles. It retains its original finish in mostly excellent condition. There is a small veneer chip at top left (see pic) and some finish loss at bottom left (again, see pic). Neither of these distract from the overall appearance of the cabinet. The grille cloth is also original, and is in excellent condition. The knobs are all original and correct, including the two-part tuning knob, which is very often missing and is tough to come by.

The phenolic dial scale is warped, as are most of these, and has a few cracks here and there around the periphery. I left it as is; it displays well and is stable. You will be responsible for getting to the closest depot to pick it up.

Just let me know what you want to do. If there is a problem, let me know!

We'll figure out a solution. Here's a chance to own a very pretty, trouble-free and seldom found classic from Zenith's golden years.
