Here is a very nice specimen of the Zenith 805 cathedral radio from 1934. This radio has undergone electrical renovation here at Sacramento Radio Expo where all capacitors were changed out - coupling, bypass, and electrolytic capacitors. All tubes tested above the minimum for a new tube as indicated on one of the lab grade testers in the shop. The grill cloth is new period cloth, the cabinet looks as it has been cleaned up by the previous collector.
The radio was aligned properly and gets many stations up and down the dial with full volume and clarity. This radio has two bands: Broadcast Band covers 550 KHz to 1.520 MHz and a Shortwave Band covering 1.50 MHz to 5.05 MHz. The upper 200 KHz of the present day Broadcast Band is received on the lower end of the Shortwave Band. This radio is beautiful to look at as well a great to listen to as well.
This radio came to us from the estate of a recently deceased collector of vintage radios here in northern California. The radio has been in a nice environment for the past 40 years and will display very nicely. This is guaranteed to play properly when received by the winner.
