Zenith 5S119 radio, fully restored and working well

Here is a very nice, large Zenith table radio - the 5S119 that has been fully restored in the lab here and works very well. This is a very nice specimen with the black dial and lightning bolt pointer. All capacitors have been changed out, all resistors measured and changed where necessary, all tubes tested and changed for new ones when not measuring up to new tube standards, new volume control with on/off switch added, new tuning drive belt and new chassis rubber mounts - and finally went through a complete RF and IF alignment (with Agilent/HP signal generators and oscilloscope) for dial accuracy and maximum sensitivity here in the lab at Sacramento Radio Expo. This radio performs very well and has a deep sound from the large speaker in the cabinet.

Of antenna wire bringing in stations loud and clear up and down the band. This is only a 5-tube radio but it works phenomenally well.

The cabinet is in great shape and would compliment any collector's ensemble. Now for the issues noted - the speaker grill cloth is obviously not original, the first IF transformer had been changed somewhere in the past, and the antenna screw terminal on the three screw bakelite strip on the back is missing so the wire is connected under the chassis and brought out through the missing screw hole in the strip - see photo of back of the radio. All in all, I think this radio would compliment any serious collector's collection of mid-1930's radios.
