The Telechron Clock was still accurate after 24 hours running. (Includes short wire antenna for FM). Originally this radio had one of the now defunct selenium rectifiers. Those go bad after maybe 10 or 20 years and has now been replace with a modern diode and resistor.

The cabinet has been thoroughly cleaned to remove all the old nicotine that was on it as was on the clock dial face. Radio has had a new 3 coats of cold paint on the gold area, and new coat of clear lacquer over the brown areas. Inside the chassis has all new capacitors or resistors that needed replacement, and has been cleaned and tubes checked and or replaced as needed. The cord is original as it was in good condition and is attached to a special 4 pronged connector to the chassis. The safety integral protection for shock has been defeated. Originally to operate the radio only, one needed to turn one of the small knobs to radio. Have upped that one to better in that you can now leave it in that position and use the volume knob to turn it on and off also. THe original volume control was defective and the new replacement 1 meg ohm Vol.

Cont now have switches on them so I utilized that in series with the original switch and you can just leave it on radio and turn on via vol control / switch. If you wish to use the radio alarm leave the vol control switch on and at the desired volume. There is a socket in back to attach a lamp to if you want a lamp to come on also. So there is the dial indicator from an 1930s Zenith and a center knob from a 1970s radio. They look good I think.

Radio is heavy (over 10 lbs without packaging) and measures 16Wide x 8 deep x 8 tall. The item "Zenith J733 chassis 7J03 antique 1952 AM FM clock radio working repaired" is in sale since Saturday, September 11, 2021.
