Dimensions: 12" wide 10 ½" high x 9 deep.This is a fully restored 1938 Zenith 5-S-218 Long Distance Cube Radio. The walnut cabinet is in exceptional condition. Stunning wood grain runs throughout the entire set that features an elegant "waterfall" design. An Art Deco grill is positioned on the front of the radio as well as the side, to allow for optimal sound from the side-mounted speaker. Jet black feet and dark walnut trim finish this set off with style and class.

The cabinet has undergone a vigorous restoration process using a minimum of 12 coats of Mohawk brand lacquers and toners. Many hours of work were put into the cabinet. The final outcome is beautiful wood with a silky smooth finish and gorgeous luster & shine. This radio is a great piece of history that comes to you ready to proudly display and play. This one is in perfect condition, as is the dial glass, with no chips, cracks, or scratches. All the numbers and letters representing station frequencies are legible and show no signs of wear. The airplane style "Z" pointer is perfect and turns nicely around the dial. The dial lights up nice and bright, with a warm orange glow. All 3 wood "Z" knobs are in superb shape. They are secure, turn nicely, and work as they should (On/Off & Volume, Tuning, Tone Control & Band switch). The center knob is tuning. The right-hand knob is the band switch and tone control. This switch has 4 positions. The next position clockwise is shortwave with no treble cut. The last position is shortwave with treble cut. The famous Zenith 5-tube copper chassis is in excellent shape. It's clean and rust free.The set has been electronically restored (including caps, resistors, tubes, alignment, line cord and brittle wires replaced). Excellent reception with this Long Distance model.
