You need to attach a wire antenna for shortwave. The radio plays well although the volume control is a bit scratchy and could use a shot of electronic cleaner like Deoxit. The set came from an old radio guy estate in central Arizona. The photos show the condition of this set clearly and you can see the set is in nice shape. There is a small gouge in the bottom curved piece near the speaker as can be seen in the photos and a bit of a stain on the lid.

The dial lights nicely although there is a collection of dust behind the dial glass and on the dial.
