1946 Zenith 8H034 AM/Old FM/New FM. Very clean, all original inside & out
Very clean, all original inside & out. Vintage 1946 Zenith model 8H034 table radio. Introduced in March 1946, the Zenith 8H034 is an 8 tube radio and has the old pre-war FM band Zenith called "FM-45" (42-48 mc) and the new (current) FM band (88-108 mc) Zenith called "FM-100". This beautiful example of the 8H034 has its original finish, grille cloth and knobs. The cabinet is in excellent condition.
There is no missing or cracked veneer and t. He brass dial bezel is in good condition.This great looking radio is complete and retains its original back and internal loop antenna. The chassis is appears to be completely original and if it was ever worked on it was surely many years ago. The dial lamps are bright and the plastic dial cover is crystal clear. The set was powered up with a variac over the course of one hour and while there is, of course, no reception on the old pre-war FM band, nothing was received on the current FM band. Dimensions of the 1946 Zenith 8H034 are: 9 inches tall, 14 3/4 inches wide and 7 1/4 inches deep.
