This is a nice, working postwar Zenith 8G005YT Transoceanic radio, chassis 8C40. I believe it was Zenith's first postwar Transoceanic. It came from a ham estate. There was a note inside the radio and I was told it was rebuilt a number of years ago.
I tested it and it plays. The bandswitch buttons are a bit touchy and I'm sure the contacts could use cleaning with something like DeOxit after sitting all this time. I posted some short video clips showing the set playing on several different bands. Please look at all the photos as they are an integral part of the description. I'm not sure what was done during the rebuild of the set so it may need some additional adjustment/work but it IS playing as shown. These early postwar Zenith TO sets are getting harder to find in decent shape as they are now 75 years old. This set comes with a vintage reprint of the original manual as shown in photos. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Radio, Phonograph, TV, Phone\Radios\Tube Radios\1930-49".
