Over this time it has performed wonderfully and I expect it to do so in the future but, as this is a 74-year old radio, I can't guarantee anything. It has the original knobs, tone controls, push-buttons, grill cloth and speaker. I installed a reproduction black cardboard back on the set to protect the fine wire of the antenna coil. Originally, the top of the set had some deep gouges in it which detracted from its appearance.
These were wet-sanded off, the wood pores filled with matching grain filler, the top fine-sanded more and eventually spray-coated with several coats of a clear satin lacquer to match the rest of the set. If you look carefully, you will see that this turned out very nice and smooth. Photos were taken with the flash off to show the colors of the set in more detail. These black-dial sets with their convex glass dial covers also light up nicely at night. The radio is double-boxed with air pillows and styrofoam panels in the first box and surrounded on all sides by 2-in.
