Beautiful, working 1939 Zenith Streamlined Wavemagnet Vacuum Tube BAKELITE Radio
The year 1939 produced many beautiful radios, none better than this Zenith tabletop set, which is an icon of the Art Deco period. Designed by Robert Budlong, one of Zenith's most prolific design engineers, it is a classic in any radio collection. This was Zenith's most adventurous styling for any midget sized radio they made. The radio has to its credit an appearance in one of MGM's Andy Hardy movies, "Strike Up the Band, " with Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland. The case is in wonderful condition, with no cracks, chips, hairline cracks, or other cosmetic issues.
It plays fine with just an extended antenna wire, and even better with a link to an external antenna. Original knobs, the dial lights up as it should and it plays very well. Radio measures approximately 10-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H x 7D.
