This radio has the distinctive "beehive" style and is highly sought after. The radio has 5 pushbuttons to the right of the dial.
The top four are station presets and the bottom one is for dial tuning. This radio has a ballast tube for reducing the line voltage to a value suitable for the filaments. The ballast tube, which is actually a resistor, get extremely hot. Some other versions of this radio use a transformer instead of the ballast tube. But it is not working now.
Over inspection, we found a capacitor that is not of this radio, too large, with one terminal loose (See Picture). We do not know where it should go or why is there. We left a caiman marking the area we believe it came off. But even attaching it to that point, the radio did not work.
A picture of the electronics from an example from Radio Museum is also including in the pictures for comparison. Each Knob has a small chip. NO CRACKS OR HAIRLINES in the case.

At the end of our liquidation, we will list groups/lots of radios of less value, or defective, to be restored for reselling purposes or collection. All our radios have undergone a-comprehensive cleaning process of the chassis, cases, dials, etc. Cosmetic restorations are done when needed and when-possible.
However, we do not do electronic repairs or restorations. When the information is available, we-describe whether the radio is working or not. We describe all-known damages to the inside or outside of the radio. Cracks or chips are-frequently obvious and are described.
But some are not, and they could be-missed during our inspection. These are inherently used radios that are in-many cases over 50 years old. They are fragile and should be handle-with care. Electronics of tube radios are unreliable and dangerous. If you are not familiar with vintage electronics, ask for advice from-experts.
We use and recommend protecting plastic-radios with TRINOVA (Plastic and Trim Restorer) available at Amazon. It is-a liquid solution that protects the plastics from the elements, provides-darkness and shine to the cases, and prevents aging and fading of colors. Remember the King It is Now or-Never.
