A Quality Antique Radio Makes The Perfect Christmas Gift! Here we have a great looking 1941 Zenith model 6-D-512'Long Distance' table radio. Featuring a beautiful American Walnut cabinet, seldom seen black and blue metal dial, ivory'Z' knobs, loop antenna and outstanding performance. The American Walnut cabinet is simply gorgeous.

Beautiful wood grain flows throughout the entire set with an elegant swirl grain on the front. Rounded corners on each side, coupled with a tapered base, remind you of the Art Deco styling so famous in that era.

A large open grill not only looks great but allows for optimal sound from the speaker. Jet black trim and dark walnut tones add the perfect contrast to finish the cabinet off perfectly. This little beauty is sure to be a head turner no matter which room in the home or office you choose to display it in. This is Zenith's back and blue metal dial. And what an attractive dial it is! It was only used on a select few models which is why it is seldom seen. There are also several foreign city and country names listed for shortwave reference. All letters and numbers on the dial are legible and show virtually no signs of wear. All three ivory'Z' knobs are in perfect shape and control the following: on/off & volume, band switch, and tuning.

The 1930s style grill cloth is a fine reproduction featuring a whiskey. Gold color with an Art Deco geometric design. All tubes in the 6 tube chassis were tested with any weak tubes being replaced.

All caps, filters, and resistors were checked and replaced as needed. All brittle or bare wiring was replaced or re-insulated. The chassis has been cleaned, lubed, and re-aligned for optimal performance. The radio performs exceptionally well.

The Cabinets Finish & Restoration Process. Our Radio cabinets undergo a vigorous restoration process. Our goal is to maintain the natural beauty of the wood and grain, while providing a deep luster and shine. We achieve this by removing all the old and worn lacquers and stains. We then sand the cabinet with fine grit pads down to the original bare wood. Nicks, chips, and blemishes are filled and/or blended. Any loose veneer is re-secured. We make sure any filler applied or repairs made are blended nicely and do not detract from the beauty of the set unless otherwise noted. New stains and sealers are applied by hand. We continue by using many coats of Mohawk brand lacquers and toners applied in the same manner as when the radio was originally finished in the factory. We use a nitrocellulose piano lacquer which is applied through a professional HVLP turbine spray system in a climate controlled room. Nitrocellulose lacquer is very thin. We also apply very thin coats. This allows the lacquer to seep into the grain and not cover it up. A fine grit wet sanding follows every third coat along with a polishing process and ending with an Oz glaze rub.

Many hours of work are put into the radios, but as you can see, the final outcome is a beautiful, natural looking cabinet with gorgeous luster& shine. Our radios are a great piece of history that come to you ready to proudly display, as well as listen to, in any room of the home or office. 12 3/4W x 8 1/4H x 6 1/2D.
