This is a fabulous Zenith Cube radio. The model number of this elegant set is 6-S-222 and was made in 1938 in Chicago, Illinois. The lustrous wood graining and big black dial makes this set stand out in any collection.

The deco cut out grill and wooden "Z" knobs add to the appeal. The radio plays superbly and has that deep rich sound that can only come from a well made tube radio. The radio has a very clean six tube chassis with a power transformer that receives the A. Broadcast band and also two short wave bands. All electrolytic and paper/wax capacitors have been replaced with modern type capacitors.

All tubes have been checked and replaced as needed. Resistors were replaced as needed. All moving parts were lubricated. The chassis has been aligned back to factory specifications.

Two new dial lights have been installed and lights up the dial very well. A new safe power cord has been installed.

All controls work as they should. I installed new rubber grommets for the tuning condenser.

A new tuning drive belt was installed. Two new #44 dial lamps and new lamp shields were installed. A new tone control was also installed.

This radio also has a newer replacement six inch speaker. The set plays very well on A.

And shortwave with the long wire antenna that is included. The modern audio jack works very well. It is compatible with I-Pod, MP-3 players and phones.

When the audio cord is plugged into the jack of the radio it turns off the radio signal but keeps the audio to the speaker. Plug in your I-Pod to the other end of the audio cord and the radio will play music from your I-Pod or other device. A new audio cord will be included with the radio. The cabinet has been refinished using high quality grain fillers and nitrocellulose toning and clear lacquers. I apply at least 12 coats of lacquer, sanding every other coat for maximum smoothness.

I let the cabinet cure for at least one month and then hand polish to a high gloss. This is a very time consuming process but the results are worth it.

The replacement grill cloth is the correct pattern for this model. The wooded "Z" knobs are original. The numbers and graphics on the dial are perfect. New felt pads have been installed.

The dramatic use of contrasting veneers and the jet black claw feet help make this set a favorite among collectors everywhere. BE SURE TO VIEW MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE RESTORED ANTIQUE RADIOS!! The cabinet dimensions are: 14" wide, 11" tall, 9.5 deep. The radio will be carefully packed using plenty of bubble wrap and packing peanuts. The radio will be insured.
