Scarce BLACK BAKELITE 1952 ZENITH K-515 OWL EYES PERFECT CASE

This Black Bakelite 1952 ZENITH OWL EYES tube radio is model K-515 when found this model is almost always brown the sleek black version is far scarcer and better looking. The case is beautiful no chips or cracks, no flakes or scars lightly used if judging from condition and well-preserved in a local estate for over ½ century. The radio is 13 long, 5 deep and 5 high all knobs including the small settings control knobs on the left dial are original, the cord is very good, the protective back cover with printing is present and minty and the bottom retains 2 original labels.

The set is alive it lights and hums loudly but it will require electronic attention. This is a super looking 1950s tube radio the form is reminiscent of Art Deco yet it also looks forward to the space age and BLACK BAKELITE is both gorgeous and scarce- you will encounter many brown cases before running onto a black example.
