Vtg Zenith B600 Trans-Oceanic Wave Magnet AM SW Portable Tube Radio 6A40 As Is

A vintage (circa late 1950s or early 1960s) Zenith "Trans-Oceanic Wave Magnet" portable tube radio! Marked inside the back as being model B600 and chassis model 6A40. Comes with an operating manual for it and some sales/parts lists that I'm not sure went with it originally? We received it with a couple loose tubes stored in the back, which are included with the radio.

I plugged the radio into a variac, powered it on and get a little bit of static when I adjust the volume but no other sound. I can't see the tubes lighting up either. The tuning knob is missing, so I used a comb handle to turn the screw and the dial does move. General wear like lifted edges, scuffs, scratches, and discoloration scattered throughout.
