The wood cabinet, attributed to Ingraham and often called the Toaster due to the resemblance to the toasters of the time, is breathtaking after being stripped, restored with walnut stain to bring out the marvelous grain of the wood, and then completed with multiple layers of lacquer to return the glow that made this radio such a prized model. The lighted tuning dial looks great with its large Zenith dial pointer and is easily viewed through the original dial cover, free of cracks, chips, or scratches and clear with no yellowing.
The two plastic Zenith "Z" knobs are original and look great. The grill cloth and power cord are modern. The back panel is missing. The electronics have been revitalized with all paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced with modern units, all six tubes tested and replaced if performing below specs, controls cleaned and lubricated, and the set aligned. This radio delivers sensitive reception from the loop antenna with tons of volume and excellent tone from the speaker. This radio is a beauty. Don't let it slip away to that other guy...
