Just looking at this set evokes a certain nostalgia for a time when things were built to last, and the radio was an item to proudly display in the home. Ive tried to show the cabinet and chassis clearly in photos. CONDITION: It appears the finish is original on the cabinet, as it has worn somewhat thin in places on the top panel, and the decals on the front are still in fine legible shape. Theres a shallow dent on the top panel pointed out in one photo. Overall, the finish and wood grain look fine as seen in photos with no deep scratches or other signs of abuse; all panels and joints are tight with no splits or separation.
Dial graphics and numerals are looking superb, dial cover is clear without scratches, but does have a small white dot on its left side. The electronics have been gone through with a number of wires replaced along with the old wax / foil capacitors and the high voltage electrolytic filters. The dial cord was replaced, mechanics were lubed along with push button mechanisms so they latch properly. Power cord was replaced with a safe new one.The six tubes inside (four of them Loktals) are commonly found to this day and easily serviced by removing the special cage antenna. Chassis is quite clean along with cabinet interior and radio is free of tobacco odors, etc. Radio has its original knobs and fasteners, and the backboard has managed to survive the last 76 years as well without damage along with the caged antenna, so you know this radio was well cared for, and will be well worth preserving for decades to come. Tall, and is 7.8 in. Deep from front of knobs to back panel old 6.5 Oz.
Coke bottle in photo placed to give sense of scale.
