It might be difficult to find a nicer example of this model, as this one shows very little wear and will pass the white glove test. Large dial scale, perforated grille, brass Zenith crest, and three matching knobs all work together to make this set a favorite. Radio has been recently serviced, thoroughly tested, and will perform well for years to come. Photos will represent it well, and it would make a great gift in this condition.

CONDITION, SERVICING, PERFORMANCE: Bakelite cabinet is in outstanding condition without a nick, crack, scratch or mar. It retains a beautiful luster that Ive tried to capture indoors and out, and takes on a marbled appearance in stronger lighting. The large red dial pointer rotates properly without binding or slipping. The electronics were gone through with a multitude of checks; old oozing wax / foil capacitors were changed and the Selenium rectifier was replaced with a safer and reliable 1N4007 diode. The 7 tube chassis is clean, and all controls function as they should.

Dial mechanics were lubed, and power cord is safe and pliable. It gets fine basic FM reception as well with the signal coupled in right through the power cord. An external antenna (rabbit ears, dipole, etc) for FM can be connected at the two rear terminals for better FM reception if desired.

Original backboard is sturdy and undamaged, radio has its original knobs and fasteners, and the factory tube layout sticker is mostly intact on the bottom. Theres no dust build-up inside or out, nor any odors from smoke, etc. The item "Zenith Mod G723 Antique Bakelite AM/FM Tube Radio 1950 Serviced & Working" is in sale since Friday, December 04, 2015.
