This one is remarkably well preserved with its original finish on the undamaged cabinet. Radio is performing very well after a recent electronic restoration, ready to play for years to come, and photos will represent it well. CONDITION, SERVICING, PERFORMANCE: Wood cabinet is in fine condition with sturdy panels free of dents, nicks, splits, separation, or other signs of abuse.
Original finish is holding up well with only minor scratches here and there from careful ownership over the decades seen in photos. Dial scale has razor sharp graphics and numerals, plastic cover is crystal clear w/o scratches, and all is nicely lit with the central pilot light; one photo will capture that effect. The chassis electronics were serviced with all wax / foil capacitors removed and replaced with reliable new ones along with a multitude of other checks of resistors, wiring, dial mechanics, and operation. The five tubes are easily accessed and commonly found to this day if one is ever needed.
Power cord was replaced with a fresh pliable one that looks right for the period, radio has its original knobs and fasteners. Orig factory backboard is in fine condition with legible graphics, and the chassis is exceptionally clean and dust free without smells from smoky rooms, etc. Put an elegant piece of the early 1940s in your home or collection that was made right here in the US of A by the Greatest Generation. Tall, and is 7.4 in. Deep from front of knobs to back panel old 6.5 Oz.Coke bottle in photo placed to give sense of scale. Unpacked, radio weighs just under 6 pounds.
