ZENITH Radio Model 6D525 The Toaster (1941)
This 1941 "the Toaster" beauty is unusual in that it is made of solid walnut with venting within the cabinet itself while remaining very nicely styled. What you are viewing has not been refinished! The exterior of the cabinet is totally original, with a deep cleaning and then polishing with an orange oil and beeswax compound to nourish and bring out the original beauty of the wood. It also retains the original dial cover, grill cloth, Z dial pointer and knobs. The only blemish is a crack within the grill as can be seen in the photos. That does not detract from the overall appeal of this gorgeous little radio. The chassis has been serviced, with a deep cleaning of all components and lubrication of contacts and moving parts. All of the paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced. Tubes and resistors were replaced as needed.
A new power cord was installed for safety. The radio was tuned and aligned for maximum reception and sound using the internal loop antenna. With the warm glow of the new dial lamp, just imagine the news of the world this radio brought to the original owners as they sat around it on a cold winter's evening.
Evocative of a simpler time, this radio. Will add charm and beauty to any decor. The item "ZENITH Radio Model 6D525 The Toaster (1941)" is in sale since Sunday, January 21, 2018.
