This model was manufactured by Zenith Radio Corp in Chicago, IL during 1958. Unit is in good cosmetic condition with some use and wear marks.
The unit exterior casing is made of wood with an imitation black leather cover. The leather has a couple of wear spots throughout the cover. The volume and tuning buttons are present. The lens cover on the dial is clear with no cracks or scratches.
The writing on the front of the unit is legible and can be read. Inside of the unit is dusty with no burn marks or smells emitting from the unit. The chassis is in good shape.
The unit was not fully tested however given a detailed inspection. The seven band selector buttons are present, intact and operate properly. The hinges and carrying handle are in good shape. The complete antenna mask is in good shape with no bends.The tuning indicator moves across the tuning dial when the tuning shaft is turned. This unit contains 6 tubes. The tubes were removed, tested and reinstalled.
All of the tubes tested good. The power cord is present and intact. The unit was plugged in and powered up using a variac.
The unit did power up and the back light for the dial did light up. The off and on switch (shaft) is working properly. The unit does receive channels and signals. The radio has a pretty good and nice clear sound.There is some dust in the buttons which make the unit have a static sound. No further testing was done. Original packaging is not included.
The original operating instructions is included and is in good shape. Inside of the unit near the antenna is another compartment with some tuning instructions. Great vintage collector's item.
