Offered is an example of the venerable Zenith Trans-Oceanic H500, last model in the line with the famous'airplane dial'. This is Serial Number 242245 with a cabinet date stamp of August 5, 1951. Professionally refurbished electronically and cosmetically, this is a beautiful radio on display and is amazing to listen to. Chassis has a new Filt-R-Pak+ installation, new dial cords, new power cord, and has been completely IF/RF aligned to factory specs.
The set plays strongly across all seven bands with great sensitivity, lots of volume and beautiful tone. The telescopic antenna is straight, extends fully, latches down and pops up as it should.
Plastic trim and brass fixtures have been cleaned and polished and all controls and switches have been lubricated for smooth operation. The gray panel behind the Wave Magnet antenna has been refinished, and the cabinet has been repaired, cleaned, and completely re-dyed for deep, even color. Close inspection of the radio may reveal evidence of restoration work but, as the images attest, this is a very pretty radio you can display with pride in its appearance, and dazzle with its performance.
