Zenith Tube Radio 5-S-127 (5S127) from 1937 for Sale

I inherited a couple from my great uncle when he passed. I have mostly Philco's, Zeniths, Atwater Kents as these are my favorites. All of the radios in my collection worked the last time. The cabinet on this radio is in great shape as you can see from the pictures. I only collected top quality radios so they are all in excellent shape.

The last time I turned this radio on was about a year ago and it was working. I turned it on yesterday and there is a hum.

I was able to tune in one station with a short antenna. It is in GREAT SHAPE!

5 tubes, tunes American and foreign stations, split-second re-locator. ZENITH MODEL 5-S-127 Specifications from the 1937 dealer catalog. TUBES: Metaglas; 1-6A8 converter; 1-6K7 I. Amplifier; 1-6Q7 Diode detector and audio amplifier; 1-6F6 power output; 1-5Y3 rectifier.

A graceful table model, with skillfully matched figured butt walnut front panel, hard wood ends, reeded corners at top, flutes around bottom and well designed base. S: Tuning, switch and calibrated volume; Continuous tone. Tuning range of 3 bands covering 538-1,780 K. 557-168.2; 172.3-49.6; 54.5-15.5 meters. Built-in antenna tuning for doublet connection.
